Jax and I decided to go tent camping at Osoyoos Lake State Park near Oroville, Washington for the weekend of June 25th. This was our first tent camping trip in untold years and our first camping trip together on the Goldwing towing the trailer. This was also our first visit to this park but it won't be our last as we found it to be a pretty nice campground. You can find out more and make reservations here. |
| We entered the campground on a nice, paved road... |

Lots of grassy areas and trees. The campground reminded us in many ways of Perrygin Lake State Park - one of our favorite campgrounds. |
| We've reserved site 60. It turned out that this site was, in our opinion, the nicest site on the lake. Here's our campsite ready and waiting for us... |

It doesn't take us long to get everything unloaded and set up... |
| This is the view from our chairs behind the tent. It doesn't get much better than this... |

Here's the view in the other direction.... |
| Jax caught a picture of this old dude (who just happens to look a lot like me but obviously much older) checking out the bike and trailer... |

Dinner is a couple of potatoes sliced, spread with butter, and wrapped in aluminum foil on the grill. They were simply delicious.... |
| Dinner over we relaxed by the fire and admired the lake... |

A few clouds showed up around sundown but nothing too severe and they soon departed... |
| The next day Jax caught this yellow-headed blackbird sitting in a tree squaking noisely... |

Here he is in the grass... |
| Momma Ducky brought her babies by our campsite for a visit.... |

|

And the carp were feeding heavily in the shallows in front of our campsite... |
| Turtles also came by our campsite frequently... |

As you can see, wildlife abounds around here. I even got a picture of Bigfoot... |
| The water lillies had beautiful flowers that opened in the morning and closed down at night - which was fine 'cause so did we! |

After a wonderfully relaxing weekend it was time to hit the road. Jax got a self portrait with the road reflected in her sunglasses... |
| This helicopter parked in the field looked ready to go... |

Jax took a picture of this nice building. Not sure if it's in Omak or Okanogan... |
| This woodcarving is in Winthrop... |

Lots of beautiful flowers alongside the road in full bloom... |
| This part of Ross Lake is a beautiful, glacier green.. |

We're westbound into Washington Pass on Highway 20 and you can see that there's still quite a bit of snow up on the east side of the mountains... |
| More lovely mountains.. |

|

And a few more... |
| There's a couple of short tunnels along our route.. |
|
We stopped at the Gorge overlook to get a shot or two of the waterfall down into the steep canyon... |
| Here's the other side where it dumps out into the lake.. |

Our bike and trailer parked at the Gorge overlook on Highway 20. From here on to home (about 45 miles) we're going to get rained on - sometimes pretty hard... |
| One more look down to the lake.. |

Another tunnel coming up. You can see the rain drops on the lens. We made it home uneventfully and nicely relaxed from our stay at Lake Osoyoos. Highly recommended and if you should get a chance to stay there you really should take it... |
